Troubleshooting Q-Connect Inkjet Cartridges

Original equipment manufacturers are becoming increasingly more aggressive in their strategies to discourage the end user from purchasing any non OEM cartridges including legitimate remanufactured cartridges. Pop-up messages on user’s printers stating the cartridges are empty or not original are a big part of their strategy. Troubleshooting Q-Connect Toner Cartridges

Many printing issues are easy to overcome, so Q-Connect have listed below some common technical errors and how to overcome them. If you try these solutions and are still experiencing issues, please contact your place of purchase for further advice.

Is the printer plugged in?

Make sure that the printer is on. When a printer is on it should have some light or LED (usually green) indicating it’s receiving power.

Cables not connected properly

The printer should have two cables connected to it: the power cable and the data cable. Check that the power and data cables (Network, parallel or USB cable) are connected to both the printer and computer.

Does it have paper?

Without paper, a printer will not be able to print. The end user should check that there is paper in the printer paper cartridge or tray. Next, verify that no printer paper is jammed or partially fed into the printer. If you suspect paper is stuck somewhere it shouldn’t be, refer the end user to their printer manual for help on solving paper jams.

Is there an error message showing on the printer display?

If there is and it is an error code, then you need to refer to the web to find it’s meaning. But most often a message is self-explanatory, such as “Paper out” or “Toner empty”.

Printer self tests

Most printers have a way of printing a test page. This page allows you to determine if the printer is physically working or not. This test is usually accomplished by holding down a series of keys. If a user is not sure if their printer has this feature or how to perform it then they should to their user manual or visit the printer manufacturer’s website.

Will using remanufactured cartridges invalidate my equipment warranty?

Don’t worry, following pressure from The European Union & the American Fair Trade laws, the OEMS’s are not allowed to void a printer warranty for using remanufactured cartridges.

Additionally, in the event of any damage to the printer caused from our product, Q-Connect will pay the reasonable cost of repair, provided that the cartridge and damaged/replaced parts are returned along with a technician’s report. What if I experience a print quality issue?

If a cartridge doesn’t meet your expectations please notify your customer service representative who will assist you.
